Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Bytedrift Limited, trading as Compounding Wealth, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our product. By using Compounding Wealth, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Who operates Compounding Wealth
Compounding Wealth is operated by Bytedrift Limited, a Hong Kong company with its address at Unit B, 11/F Yam Tze Commercial Building, 23 Thomson Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at privacy@compounding-wealth.com. For Hong Kong privacy law purposes, Bytedrift Limited is the data user responsible for personal data processed through Compounding Wealth.
Information we collect
We collect and process information needed to operate the service, including:
- Account and authentication information needed to sign in and secure your account.
- Holdings and portfolio records that you add to your account yourself.
- Holdings, transactions, account identifiers, and related portfolio records imported from external brokers that you choose to connect.
- Broker access information that you provide, including Interactive Brokers Flex tokens and report identifiers used to download Flex reports.
- Market-data lookup information, such as ticker symbols and market identifiers needed to retrieve prices and related financial data.
- Payment and subscription information processed by our payment provider when paid features are available.
- Telemetry, error-reporting, and diagnostic data used to evaluate app performance, diagnose failures, and help fix bugs.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and secure Compounding Wealth.
- Store and display the holdings and portfolio data associated with your account.
- Import holdings, transactions, and related portfolio data from external brokers at your request.
- Retrieve current and historical market data used by portfolio views.
- Provide optional AI features that analyze portfolio, holding, transaction, and related financial records you choose to use with those features.
- Measure app performance, investigate failures, and improve product reliability.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions when paid features are available.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Security and encryption
We store the data we collect encrypted at rest where supported by the relevant storage system, including the holdings you add and the holdings, transactions, or related portfolio data imported from external brokers. We also use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the service, but no method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.
Broker access and trading authority
Compounding Wealth does not support trading on behalf of users. When you connect Interactive Brokers through Flex reports, we store the Flex token and report identifier you provide so we can download reports directly from Interactive Brokers. That access is used to read broker reports and import holdings, transactions, account identifiers, and related portfolio information. When you connect brokers through SnapTrade, SnapTrade helps connect your brokerage accounts and gives Compounding Wealth access to the positions, transactions, account identifiers, and related portfolio information you authorize. To the best of our knowledge, Interactive Brokers Flex tokens and SnapTrade connections used by Compounding Wealth do not permit us to place trades, transfer assets, or otherwise instruct your broker on your behalf.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Compounding Wealth and any broker connection complies with the terms and policies of your broker or financial institution.
Optional AI features
We may offer optional AI features that analyze portfolio, holding, transaction, and related financial records you choose to use with those features. We do not send your account email, billing details, or authentication credentials to AI providers.
We do not currently use AI to parse user-submitted CSV files, brokerage files, or other imported files.
Advertising and data sales
We do not run ads in Compounding Wealth. We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party tracking for advertising, profiling, or cross-site behavioral targeting.
Telemetry and diagnostics
We use Sentry for telemetry, error reporting, performance diagnostics, feedback, and session replay where enabled in the deployed build. This may include IP address, device and browser information, operating system and app version, route or screen context, user identifiers, cookies or similar identifiers, logs, stack traces, error details, performance timings, and replay or interaction data needed to reproduce and diagnose issues.
We intend to provide a dedicated in-app control that lets users disable optional telemetry in a future configuration panel. Until that control is available, Sentry telemetry may remain enabled where it is part of the deployed build.
Service providers and external services
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the product, but only for the purpose of delivering, securing, maintaining, or improving Compounding Wealth. These providers and services may include:
- Clerk for authentication and account management.
- Sentry for telemetry, diagnostics, feedback, and error reporting.
- Stripe for payment and subscription processing.
- OpenRouter for optional AI features.
- Yahoo Finance and other market-data providers for financial data.
- Interactive Brokers for downloading Flex reports that you configure.
- SnapTrade for connecting supported broker accounts and accessing authorized positions, transactions, and related account data.
- Cloudflare for website hosting, security, and related infrastructure.
- AWS, DigitalOcean, self-hosted PostgreSQL, Supabase, or similar infrastructure and database providers for backend hosting and persistence.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the service and its users.
Retention
We retain account, portfolio, broker, and transaction information for as long as your account is active or as long as reasonably needed to operate the service. If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data that is no longer needed within a reasonable period, subject to backups, security logs, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements. Backup copies and diagnostic records may persist for a limited period before they are deleted in the ordinary course of system maintenance.
Your choices
You can choose whether to add holdings manually or connect external brokers. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data associated with your account by contacting privacy@compounding-wealth.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Hong Kong privacy complaints
If you believe that our handling of your personal data may breach the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you should generally first raise your concern with us at privacy@compounding-wealth.com. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong. The PCPD generally expects complaints to be made in writing, in Chinese or English, with your contact details and full particulars of the case. Complaints may be submitted to the PCPD by email at complaints@pcpd.org.hk or through other channels made available by the PCPD.
Children
Compounding Wealth is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
